Lighting plays an integral part in any interior and can change the atmosphere of a room in seconds.

As a Lighting Retailer, we are constantly looking at ways to improve, and keep on top of the Lighting Trends and ranges.

INTERIORS UK at the NEC features creative lighting, smart solutions, revolutionary
energy-efficient options, and for us more importantly, a chance to see what new products the top manufacturers are displaying ready to update our vast catalogue.

After a quick morning coffee courtesy of Dave and Diane at Searchlight, we took a few minutes to browse their new ranges. Notably we noticed a vast new collection for there 2014 catalogue with some great new kitchen lights especially, also noticed was an antique brass version of the very popular Bellis 2 range.

One exhibitor who always gives a superb display is David Hunt Lighting by Dar, perfectly crafted stands, to complement their perfectly crafted products.

Over at Inspired, they showed an array of quality from their Diyas and Mantra ranges, with some fantastic new ranges hitting the shelves in the next few weeks.

A quick visit to the guys over at Oaks sees a further developed range, in particular a range of Wall Lights which we guarantee to be a big hit if you’re looking for some quality traditional fittings at reasonable prices.

After a quick chicken dinner at the food hall, we headed over to meet the guys at Clifton Lighting, as the new distributor for Sil Lux, Clifton are an expanding company, who’s changes will only benefit us as a retailer.

We finished the day by admiring the handy work of Solus Lighting distributed by Dar Lighting, 14ft Artificial Tree’s, a concept idea that will prove popular to anybody looking to add lighting and foliage to their home or garden.

Interiors UK as a whole will see some big changes in 2015, with the exhibition moving to the ExCel Arena in London. This offering responds to extensive customer research revealing an overwhelming demand for a unifying large scale, international event attracting UK and international buyers and exhibitors. This union will give the UK interiors market an unrivalled platform for British companies to gain exposure to export markets at the right time of year, ready for retailers to procure in advance of the critical Autumn/Winter sales period.

Brand Director for INTERIORS UK, Suzie Ager commented: “Following detailed consultation with our customers we are evolving our proposition in order to best support this dynamic and vibrant industry, creating a prosperous future. By establishing a new format this signature event will provide manufacturers , suppliers and retailers – small and large, interiors designers and contract specifies – a platform from which to grow their business now and for the future.”
