Get The Look – Glamorous Monochrome Dining Room

Everyone knows I like a little glam in my interiors. It’s aspirational, it’s bold and there’s something très chic about the glimmer of metallics and the seduction of elegance in a space. And in my opinion, there’s no better place to raise the style stakes than in the dining room. This is the room your dinner parties take place so what better way to show off y our great taste then in one of the main places you entertain?

When I came across the portfolio of Karen Wolf Interiors , out of New Jersey in the United States, it’s no surprise that I fell a little in love with her meticulous high-end style. It was this gorgeous dining room that particularly caught my eye. With monochrome being a huge trend in interiors right now, Karen has expertly captured this look with lots of gorgeous textures and bold contrasts.

And really, this is how to do monochromes right – t here’s a risk when using little colour in our interiors that it will end up looking a bit cold and flat. But when you combine it with contrasting finishes as she has here with grasscloth wallpaper, shimmering glass lighting, a bold statement rug and beautiful nail head trim chairs, your room will be anything but boring.

So I thought I’d help you today to get this look by recreating it with items you can get from retailers online. Of course, the star of the show is the lighting where our stunning Japan 2 Tier Ceiling Pendant and a pair of our Moreto Chrome Table Lamps takes centre stage. With both ambient as well as accent lighting, you can change the mood of your room by layering your lighting within a space. Using a dimmer switch on your overhead light is a great way to cast soft shadows in a room without guests feeling like they are under interrogation!

Highlight your console or sideboard with a pair of tall elegant table lamps which pool lighting on a makeshift bar area to let guests help themselves to cocktails. Keep the mood relaxed and casual by including some candles on the table as well to finish off the elegant look.
